Nissan is expected to return to the full-size SUV segment this year with a new Armada, the previous version of which bowed out of the market after the 2015 model year. It’s not clear what form the new Armada will take but there are rumors it may be a rebadged version of the Patrol sold overseas, as opposed to a unique model sharing a platform with the Titan pickup truck like the previous version did.

The rumors are based on this image from Titan XD Forum (via Motor1). It shows what is clearly the Patrol but according to the person who posted the image it may actually depict a 2017 Nissan Armada. Also, you’ll notice amber indicators typical of vehicles sold in the United States. Patrols sold overseas don’t have these.

The latest Patrol made its debut in 2010 and shares most of its internals with the Infiniti QX80. Some readers will recall that at one point Nissan sold an Armada twinned with an Infiniti QX56. If the latest Patrol does end up here as the Armada, it will likely be priced close to the $64,245 starting price of the latest QX80. Toyota uses a similar pricing strategy for its Land Cruiser and Lexus LX twins.

Stay tuned for an update.
